Wanted to see what everyone else does for insurance. I just called Hagerty and its like 900 some a year to insure my Sy for 25 grand. You guys should check into it, inless someone can give me a better idea. I know my regular car insurance doesn't really understand that I have about 20 grand in work with receipts. Chime in guys and let us know what you do for insurance!

Mine is through Arbella, I pay extra for higher value (I think $19K).

In the past, their hasn't any choice in MA for collector car coverage for Syclone and Typhoon due to the age (and MA's government control insurance rate). MA has open up some of the restrictions and allow insurance rates to be semi competitive, so I have to see if collector insurance is available.

Yea, you have to pay the prem. right up front. I don't like that part of it.
The good thing is, thry trust the owners to know the value of the truck. This means I say its worth 25k, it gets insured for 25k. To me, my Sy is worth 25k because I have over 25k invested. If I'm out driving and some clown wrecks into my Sy and totals it. I get a check for 25k.

The other insurance companies won't insure it for its owners value. If you get your motor rebuilt, and have over 10k in it. You don't get that cash back with a regualr insurance. With Hagerty, you do.

I like that price better then 900/year. How is the value determined?

There are two recent threads about insurance. Give them a review and call for a quote. Both of the guys listed are knowledgeable about our trucks and will be able to point you in the right direction.

I called my insurance company and full coverage for the ty was just under $200 for 6 months It is not on the road yet though. I have an S-10 with "custom/modified vehicle" coverage that is about the same price. For my S-10 I did not even have to provide reciepts, just photos and guestimates. That was through Allstate. I will probably do the same with the ty when it is done.
