Why does the royal blue metallic paint have an astrix next to it?

A dopy question but i always wondered why on every listing or broshure it has an asterix next to it. What there an option of some sort to select?

It was added so there would be one more trivial detail to discuss 20 years later over such a mundane and insignificant procedure as selecting the color for a vehicle that the vast majority of new car purchasers never knew about when new, and could care less about now.

Wasn't the bahama blue replaced by the aspen which was replaced by the royal which was replaced by the bright package?

Maybe it's because if you ordered one you might get the other on accident? :dunno:

The Factory Catalog that I have does not have the asterix beside it. But it is for 1992 :roll:. Look on the bottom of the page where you see the astrix for the meaning of the astrix. Usually the asterix is use by GM to show a extra cost paint over the normal colors or thats the way it been for the 40 + years of working with them :tup:.
