Wierd dist. cap

Finally got my plug's in (AC cr42's) and the cap and rotor changed. Had to go outa town to get Conrad parts. Anyway, the old rotor is burnt on the inside -expected-. The old cap, however, instead of having burn marks at each contact like I would expect, instead each contact is covered it’s full length inside the cap with what looks like dried milk. Except that it’s hard and can be scraped off. Almost looks like the cap’s been out in the rain… Weird.

Wires are in the future. Haven’t decided on which ones yet and mine “look” good. Ya I know that doesn’t mean anything but for now I want to get some other stuff (fuel filter, oil change) done. And drive it if the weather's nice this weekend.

WOT will come this weekend to see if, in fact, it runs any better.

That sounds halfway common.

Kinda like this?

Yep, typical corrosion, like what you'd see on battery terminals.

Kinda tells you that it needed changing.

Hopefully this is a photo of ONE of the terms in my dist cap.

Yup, fairly common. When you have a MSD or similar box it sometimes makes it alot worse. That can be cleaned off with a pencil eraser and reused if need be.
