What will the price be for the front kit? The rear kit? Is there a package deal? I hear you're working on lightweight 17" rims also? Do you have pictures of them and prices?

Hi, the prices are not set yet but I am looking at 890.00 for the rear but it isn't set in stone yet. The front is going to be more as the calipers are a lot more expensive. The rear are 4 pistons and fronts are going to be 6 piston calipers. I will offer a combo price on both kits. I am still waiting on some parts to be finished for the front before I will show any pics of that. If you have more questions please email or call. Thanks.

Al, Very Nice! I will probably want a set for the rears. Two questions:

1. What is the estimated weight savings over the stock set up?

2. In the pictures, what leaf springs are those?

The rear caliper weights 2.2 lbs with the parking brake caliper weighing only 1lb. The hat weighs 1.5lbs with the rotor weighing 8lbs. I have not compared it to the stock drums yet but it is much lighter than stock and much lighter than the baer kit. Those are flex o forms leaf springs.

There are some exciting things coming out of Al's shop. I have re-occuring dreams of sending my Sy to him and having the tube frame, suspension and brakes done.

When you get a chance, could you weight the stock brake system and give us a side by side weight comparison. I'm sure you've got a set of stock brakes drums holding a door open somewhere.

thanks,

Jim

Hi, I just weighed the stock drum system and it came out to 24.8lbs for everything. We are at 14.2lbs for the Wilwood setup for everything and the baer kit is 10.1lbs without the iron rotor. So you can see this is dropping a lot of weight off of the trucks. We dropped 10.6lbs compared to stock and at least 5lbs compared to the Baer system. If you have anymore questions please let me know. Thank you. Oh yeah, Daron just let me know when you want to drop the truck off for the frame and stuff. I will even come get it for you. haha.

10.6 lbs is good but that's not just 106 lbs. That's 10.6 lbs of unsprung and rotational mass. I'll be taling to you about a set.

Are there different sizes dependent on wheel size like the Baer Brakes? I can't find that information. Basically I need to know if I can go from stock wheels to something larger with the Wilwood Brakes.

Right now the brake kit will feature 12.19 in rotors only. I will be making a 13" rotor kit but after the first kit is done. Please email or call if you have more questions. Thank you.
