Worth - 47k Mile Engine and Trans

What do you guys think a complete engine and trans from my Ty w/ 47k miles is worth? I saw the thread regarding a non running engine in the estimated $1k- $1,500 range. The heads will need new valve seals as there is a very small hint of smoke at initial start up. The trans shifts very firm, no issues, and I just did a full tune up including vac lines.

going by your posts im guessing your considering a ls swap, you can estimate all you want but ultimately something is only worth what someone else is willing to offer you when its actually for sale and people are cheap. Id add up what you think its gonna take money and effort wise to do the swap, then double it, esp to do it right.
And iirc a the 4.3 weighs a little less (maybe 100lbs) than a iron block ls, a alum ls weighs close to the same as a 4.3 with turbo, but thats all going by memory info can be found via google.
good luck

To answer your question
If you had lived within 500mi 6mos ago I would have paid easy 3 grand.
I paid a lot more for a rebuild. and didn't get any spare parts.
Good Luck:tup::tup:

Thank you. I was assuming $2,500ish.

Yes, I am going LS. After doing a lot of research on both options I think it is the right path for me and my goals. If I had a rare color Ty I would leave it stock and build something else. No one cares about Black Ty's so I am going to build what I want. An all aluminum LS engine seems to be around the 450lb neighborhood and I assume the 4.3 with an iron block is slightly more than this. I am getting ready to install my front coil over kit and want to make sure I put the right springs in it to start with.
