wrong to partout?

I went and looked at a ty yesterday. very cheap, very rough but great driver. I'm considering picking it up to part out cladding and intereior and then drive it till it pukes and save some parts for me and get rid of every thing else. is this right to do? I obviously feel guilty if I'm posting this question. its 95% all there one owner but 150,000 and rusty. it could be brought back but not so worth it. whats the general concensus? I want the 4 door ty proto thats an hour away from me and here I'm thinking about killing his brother? what should I do. if it was as decent as Renz's I might fix it, drive it, then sell it but its not?

who cares part it sell it do whatever you want it is your car. i dont mind parting them out. someone does not like it have them buy it off you for an investment see how much they dont want it parted out then.

i say use it till you don't want it anymore. then strip it and sell off the parts. anything is better than a syty going to the wrecker.

You can't save them all. You can do want you want with it. I wouldn't hesitate to use worn out high mile Ty to either repair another Ty or use as parts vehicle for a conversion.

buy it, part it out, sell the shell for someone's race project. get your money's worth out of it.

Sounds like a good plan considering the circumstances. I say go for it.

Mine was far gone and I brought it back, but definitely only because of it's history. If I had another one in that shape, I would have stripped it.

Yup, the fewer of these trucks that are still on the road *may* increase their value someday...

Re: wrong to partout?

My dad keeps telling me to part mine out. But to part out a Garnet, where really there isn't anything major wrong with it, other than it being in 1,498 pieces, not going to happen. Probably cost me $20k to build it the way I want, and still only be worth $15k. Oh well.

What color is the one your looking at?

black on black 92 nothing special. this truck was owned by a local doc who also was a music producer and drove the ty in the winter months from here to Detroit. one owner high miles been redone once before. I think I'll pick it up as a driver but take all the cladding off first!
