I had the exact same problem, I feel your pain! Cracked cyl wall number 4.... less than 500 miles after the rebuild. Finally back together and running again 6 months later

Just curious about the build on your engine... was it overbored to .030, .040, ?? Possible over boost, over heat? What could have cause it to crack?
Update:cracked block #3 cylinder. Cha-Ching!!!! Only 3500 miles on new build.

Bored .030 over. Not really sure what caused everything to go tits up. I don't really pound on the truck too much, but I do get after it occasionally (otherwise why have it). The weak point was that the #3 had a pretty thin wall on the side where the crack appeared. It's been pretty much of a nightmare up to this point. Lots of time and $$$$. Hope to be back on the road in a week or so.

I ended up replacing the block. It was an already sleaved cylinder that cracked. Made more sense to just replace the block
