Some good runs

New best actually. After some initial missteps the truck put down 4-5 runs all at 112-115 and more important, all in the low 12.30's very consistent. Makes this bracket racer happy.

All on 91 octane, 20# boost and no meth. Probably an 11 in the future but the season is ending so may have to wait 'till next year.

I've never gone this quick or fast so comments appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Some good runs

You owe it all to the larger, higher flowing, less bladed, turbine wheel , Sorry I suggested it to you . Made by Kinugawa

Your previous combo was too plugged up on the turbos exhaust side.

The grief I got for suggesting to you.

BTW, congrats!:tup: Hope you go quicker & quicker, & the turbo last a long time.

Re: Some good runs

That's quite a bit of boost for 91 oct. without alky. Be careful Don

That new engine is running good for you.

You are monitoring for KR aren't you Don. That's quite a bit of boost for 91 oct. without alky.

Yup. Amazing how hard this truck pulls on the top end. Those times were with no 60' time better than 1.99. I'd have to look back but at least one 1000' to 1320' time was less than 2 secs. The rest right at 2 secs. Best I've ever seen.

Re: Some good runs

Sounds great Don....Just with a better 60' that will put you in the 11s....Can't wait to see updates.

Re: Some good runs

That is very nice time on only 91:tup:

Some alky with more timing you should easily be in 11's?

Re: Some good runs

Yes there is a little knock. To settle it down I've added fuel and pulled timing. I think with the alky I can bring the timing back in to some degree anyway (Pun intended). Only reason I'm not spraying now is the pump ain't pumpin'. I've had it freeze before when it's sat for a long time.

There are only 2 race dates left this year. If we don't get rained out those will be my only real chance to test until next year.

Re: Some good runs

Nice runs Don. Why such weak 60' times? Were you just taking it easy off the line to see how it runs?

That's a good question. I don't know honestly. Possibly spinning the tires? Doubt it but possible I guess. The tune is not complete by quite a bit yet so that's more likely. Previously 60' times were high 1.6, low 1.7's. Once everything gets sorted out I think I'll return to "normal." Change the 60' from 2.0 to 1.7 puts me vary close to 11.99 all by itself so that will be interesting so see.

Edit: Forgot to add that I'm launching at low RPM's 1000-1500 max as I work on the tune so that's probably part of it.

Re: Some good runs

I remember seeing a Sy running at E-Town, NJ back in early 2000's and it was running 110-111mph and running 11.9's. I think you have the 11's with just better 60's times if your track is at or close to sea level.

Good run, glad to see you making some improvements. It's always nice when things get better after doing some work to the truck.

Re: Some good runs

What sort of pressure are you leaving at? With the larger 14cm housing and turbine wheel it may want to leave "softer", and may need a little more of a kick in the pants to get things going.

Re: Some good runs

As a suggestion, order a 5 gallon pail of torco accelerator to mix with your 91! It will go a long way when mixed at the suggested proper ratios! This will add some security to running 91

I've run Torco before without much luck. HOWEVER that was NOT this build. I'll look into that.

Thx.
