Re: '13 Nats

One thing I have notice about the Nats and other weekend syty meets is that the locals don't always or attend and/or some just make an appearance. I think some owners don't want to incur the cost of registration and the hotel.

Actually, that is a good point for those bringing kids. In Hershey, they also have the autombile museum too, and carlisle not that far away

I really liked the setting of BG. For a big city it seemed somewhat rural, which was cool IMO. More relaxed and what not... Where ever it is I'll be happy. I just want to go again! And a road trip in the Ty sounds fun.

This sounds great and the Aspen Ty is itching to make it's first appearance in a loooong time. Hopefully the location will be produced publically soon. Historically, the less time between announcement and event negatively impacts attendance. Although it would be a 11 hour trip for me, I think this location is a splendid suggestion.

The location has prolly already been chosen. All the posturing for blah blah blah is moot.

yea, im about to be out if i cant start planning, i mean seriously, wtf? the next years location should be decided within a couple months after each years nats. this could be the only vacation option for some people, who like me, have to plan way far ahead for work.

well then you front the money to try and set that up.

This "east / west" format has only been in play for two Nats, once BG and once Denver? This is the first time coming back east, so MANY locations had to be explored. Exploration includes cost, IF they have facilities and staff that are will to work with us, and get this, I believe almost ALL of the tracks we spoke to WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO BOOK AN EVENT UNTIL THE YEAR IT IS TAKING PLACE! So, we have had exactly 17 days to go and sort through all of our preliminary research/options and see which ones of those we can cross off our list, based on those things I mentioned above.

I'm sorry for those who think its just "oh, lets just do it here and on this weekend" and call it a day. If it was that simple, everyone would do it. When it was in Kansas City every year, it WAS possible to just tell them we would be back the following year, but now that its every other year and in different locations, that is no longer an option. :squint:

The secluded parking lot was nice!:D

Track (KCIR) is gone though:tdown:

yeah, I miss the parking lot more than the track, lots of memories there. None of the other locations Ive been to have yet to provide the same atmosphere as Double Tree. I could really care less about KCIR, except the fact that now theres no way we'll be back in KC unless we just do Auto Cross and go out street racing :rotf:
