36 lb injectors. Blue tops

Hi all.

I was wondering is there something equal to the old blue top 36 lb injectors.
Not sure what brand those were? Anyone?
I think these are out of production.
They were popular w/the Buick GN's
Or, does anyone here have them that wants to sell them?

They are Ford injectors. Go to turbobuick.com, there are several sets for sale right now.

There was also a "868" injector that flowed about the same.
You should be able to find tons of them in the GN classified.

I don't know that there ever was a good 36#/868 cal for a Sy, though.

I am working on one for Zav right now but it will more than likely end up being a $59 cal. That is when ever he comes over again for more testing.

Dig - You would remember better than me, but I thought years ago on the "list" someone had flow tested the 868's and blue tops and determined that the 868's weren't very linear compared to the stockers, but he blue tops were? I guess it just depends on how much tuning you want to get into.

I used a set of 36's in my Sy for several years and saw very little difference between tuning them and the stockers, just a small bump in fuel across the board.

The true blue tops were much better than the 868s. I'm having a heck of a time with the 868s in the buick. Fatter down low, not much difference up high.

I'm running the bluetops on my truck and I'm using the ultimate with the stock calibration and it idles/drives fine..
Cheap way to go if you already have alky and you want to do a little bigger turbo...
I bought both the bluetops and the alky from the GN guys.

Hey Paul! your right, it was the timing (set too advanced for the tune), I reajusted the timing and my knock is minimal now like 0-5 degrees and the miss no longer present.

I was a little concerned that we may have hurt the engine that night after we put the ultimate chip back in and it was still stalling with a bad miss. I had to limp it home at 2am that night-laugh

We need to revisit that $56 cal tune again....

Try GOOGLE maybe you will find something! They were'nt all that popular in GN's
