This is the first day I got my truck home. I didnt get to drive it too much at first because the tires were so old and cracked I was afraid they would blow out. At the time I was still driving mt 91 GTA.

Thist was my daily driver for the last 3 years. Then a few months ago it got rearended. I had so much time invested in this car. I stripped it then sent it to Pick n Pull.

I then started to drive my truck every day and of course it started developing issues. I was trying to get onto this forum for a long time but couldnt, registration was disabled. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure how to fix the problem. I know very good mechanics in the area but they all said they know nothing about these other than they know they are fast and cant believe they are actually looking at a real Typhoon.
I tried racing a stock Civic at a light and I got beat I couldnt believe it. So I started to use the paper clip trick to get my codes then search for the fixes. My o2 sensor was bad, it got replaced. Then it was o2 circuit I had a broken wire under the innercooler it was a blast to find inside the wire loom. The truck started to run better. I still was having a check engine light come on once in a while and that turned out to be a bad egr valve. At this point it really started to run really good. My sending unit started to leak fuel so I got to replace that. I then started having this issue with boost I put a boost controller in then I replaced the map sensor I used a smoke machine and I couldnt find the issue. I dealt with it for a while. I decided to put air in to every where and found a very small leak under pressure on the wastegate line.

NICE Ty...

thank you

I have replaced pads rotors and calipers
Plugs wires cap rotor and ignition control module
inner cooler pump and hot wired it

I had some time to clean it today.

Dont mind the Trans Am wheels I had just put new tires on my car before it got totaled. I still have the Typhoon wheels I cleaned them inside and out I am going to wear these out and then put new tires on the stock wheels.

If they werent gold I would not have put them on. A lot of people say they like the look. I have one friend that said I bastardized it and I have to put the stock ones back on.

Thats my favorite year and color. It looks like its in really nice shape. How'd you manage to find this one out of curiosity? How many owners and millage? I like it.

Re: 93 Ty 1505

It was stored in a warehouse owned by my work. When I seen it I knew I had to buy it. It was the first typhoon I have seen in the last 16 to 17 years. It had 79000 miles I think I am the fourth owner. I have maintenence records up to 61000 miles so the same owner had it to that point. The owners manual has the name and address of the original owner stuck on the cover. I still have the original window sticker also. It does have some rust issues since it was from Michigan. I am going to fix the rust at some point and make it a perfect truck. I am very glad I got this one.

Good looking truck.

I also like how they look on there, It just needs to be a little lower for them. Do they stick out from the fenders?

they do a small amount

I just ordered my new tires. Should I leave the GTA wheels on and get GMC center caps or go back to the stock rims? The gold rims are growing on me. I also was going to lower the front about 3/4 of an inch

Heater core is done. Caught it before it did any major damage I have only ran my heat once this year when I smelled the coolant I turned off the heat right away. it had a very small leak.

I just did the egr block off plate the other day. I had some aluminum laying around so made one and polished it. Its really not hard to make. I did notice a gain in performance. It pulls harder in the mid rpm range. My plenum temp was 160 degrees with egr and now is 110 without. When I do a data log I will post the differences

Re: 93 Ty 1505

I have been chasing down a knock issue for the last 3 weeks. It got worse everyday to the point it would knock at 7 lbs of boost. I cleaned the pcv valve and did the Top Engine Cleaner from GM. Runs perfect now power was restored. It really suprised me how much better it runs. I also replaced my shocks with Monroe reflex mono tubes and put Energy Suspension swaybar bushings in.

With the EGR delete, how much does this affect the Air/fuel ratio? Do you have to re-map? 50* is a lot, awesome finding.

Re: 93 Ty 1505

I don't know the actual air fuel ratio I don't have a wideband o2 sensor I want to get one though. I am using the Turbotweak chip with egr deleted from the tune. If you chose to remove your egr you will have to take it out of the tune also. The check engine light will come on with the egr in the tune if you are driving at a steady speed, for a while ( my light came on after 25 miles at 75 mph)

Re: 93 Ty 1505

Just fixed my a/c over the weekend. It took over 2 months for the place to fix my a/c line. It really sucks when all the part stores offer the hoes assembly for SyTys and it's the one for non turbo trucks.
