Alkycontrol Failsafe

Is anyone using or no of a good alkycontrol failsafe to kill the motor if the pump stops working? Would be nice to be able to save the motor if something like that ever happened. I hear about a guy every now and then blowing a motor because of a pump failure.

Reality of the matter is, many hundreds more motors have been blown because the alky wasn't installed than have because an alky system failed.

If you have an Innovate WB or another brand with a second wb voltage output, program the output so that voltage goes to 5v at a certain lean AFR, say, 12.5:1 or leaner. Use that to activate a relay that cuts the ignition.
(and, as a bonus, it could light up a bulb or run a buzzer).


Too many people too worried about an alcohol system dying, and not worried enough about the general state of their tune.

I have the PLX WB02. Can you go into more depth on the relay setup you are talking about?

The ISAC has all these failsafes built in if you use the boost controller. It will dump the boost if you lean out, if your alcohol level runs low or if the pump fails.

However, if you dont want to rip out your controller and change over, what I would do is get one of these.

You could use the 12V output to activate a solenoid to dump the boost. This device actually measures flow instead of pressure. If you get a clogged line, your pressure isnt going to drop but the flow will.

And of course, this thing integrates with the ISAC ;)
