DH32 Are you running a modified MAP sensor with this?

I'm at the fork in the road with using the Ty ECM or the '02 ECM. -I may use both!

It seems easier to install a newer engine in an older car instead of an older engine in a new car.

Bait: I was under the impression heat is one of the major issues with the 700R4, not necessarily the torque.

well im looking into getting either a old (pre electronics) 700R4 or a 200R4 GN tranny used localy. i'm looking at a few deals that they are swapping to stick so their prices come with everything ie shifter/cable/tv cable/ etc

we'll see what happens.

Ok... let's clarify somthing here... :)

The 200R4 is a much better transmission than a 700R by a country mile. There's much more avalible for it aftermarket and it's original design is stronger. Yes.. it's too bad there's no 4x4 200R's. I'd have one in our truck yestrday.
Anyway..... The 200R relys on the detent cable for adjusting shift points/pressures much the same as the 700R's. So if you can get a bellhousing 200R that bolt's up to chevy/BOP pattern your all set. Play with the detent cable to get your shift points right. You'll have much better luck with the 200R than anything else... well except for the 4L80E but it requires more power to run.

There is a 4wire connector on the 200R for converter lock up. (If you choose a converter that is a lockup) you can wire it to come on in 4th gear only or on a switch. It'd be easiest to just have it engauge in 4th. Your trans guy should be able to handle that for you.
