I have seen the pictures here
http://gallery.jsmanufacturing.com/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=5586

And I have read the instruction thread with the missing instruction...
http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17213&page=1&pp=30&highlight=pc680

Basicly, besides those pics I'm just guessing.

Here is what I have gathered....Correct me if I'm wrong.
- The factory cables fit
- Just chop the factory battery tray smaller with an angle bracket going to the frame/bumper support mount
- Trim the inner fender for proper fitment.

Whats better? The PC680 or the 70DT? I can get the 680 for $100 shipped.

Can you only get the AC Delco battery from a GM dealer?

Thanks for the help!

I was going to do that but did this instead

basically its a summit racing battery hold down cut up a little and mounted to the fender well, the battery sits at a angle lower down and theres just enough room for a filter right above.

I have the pc680 in a custom box I made sitting below the stock battery tray's location.. cranks really good but if your the type that sits in your truck in parking lots listening to music without the truck running then you'll have issues.

Have a bunch of sti and wrx friends that run this battery day in and day out and haven't had issues with it in the winter neither which sold me.

Got a local guy with a 680. It works ok, but I wouldn't want to leave the key on very long. It's not that "deep" in terms of cranking power.

You don't even need to relocate, an air filter will fit above it easily while lying flat.

I've got a 925 in mine. Doesn't seem to have the drain-down issues the 680 has. It's bigger,
though.

I agree, the pc680 turns the sy over just as good or better then my red top optima did but like Dig said.. the battery is so small it doesn't have much reserve so like I said if your the type that sits in his truck listening to music without the truck running don't go this route but if your looking for clearance, weight savings and easy of install like I was then go for it.

I now have the PC680 and I jump start my truck every day. It died today while driving. two electric fans, a PC680 and my Typhoon SUCK. now i need to buy ANOTHER battery and hope that a larger one works. Guess I'll do the ACDelco one this time.

I saved Nolan's original "how to install smaller battery in stock position" post to disk, if you really want it I can ZIP it up and email it to you.

I took his idea and made 1 improvement - I researched and found an even better battery - the 70-6YR. The difference is it doesn't have the Double Terminal, so you gain extra air filter clearance, and don't have to worry about your metal K&N screen shorting out on your battery :)

Here's a photo compared to a full size battery:

The best part about this battery is it just looks factory as hell!

I moved my battery across to the other side of the truck, which has been working well for me. Still using stock battery cables and I have a fullsize, high output battery in there... which is good because my truck eats batteries
You can just see it in this pic with the engine in

and here it is with the engine bay half empty

I have the volvo fan and don't have any problems with the battery.. I do however have a drain from somewhere so if I leave my truck to sit for two weeks it'll be dead enough to not start.

What's your volt gauge look like when your fans kick on?

Re: Battery Relocate Under Stock... ACDelco 70DT or Odessey PC680?

Man... I just saw I never replied to this. My voltage drops to like nothing for a second when the fans kick on. It sucks the LIFE out of my truck and often time when i turn on the fans at an idle it will just stall the truck and eat the battery life. Then i need a jump start AGAIN.

Im buying a bigger bettery. Maybe I'll mount a battery on the other side. How do I run my battery cables over there?

If on the driver's side, they will reach without being modified. You just need to do a little wire wrangling, and I think I switched the ground strap from the passenger's head to the driver's head

Awesome! Thats propbably what I'll end up doing then. Just run a full size battery so life will be back to normal and I can use my stock turbo elbow and K&N filter.

Yep. If you need any details on putting the tray on the other side, I can get you some pics / dimensions for the tray I'm using (stock size battery). Requires ditching the original air filter bracket and moving the remote oil filter a bit

Yeah that would be awesome! I already ditched the airbox stuff and figured Id have to move the oil filter somewhere. I figured Id have to hack up the stock battery tray somewhat.

It would make alot more room for my filter.
