Data logging an exhaust pyrometer - hook up?

How would one go about hooking up / wiring a Autometer exahust pyrometer to read with the 2 1/16 guage and be able to datalog it with Tunner Pro R/T, or Datamaster for that matter. I have never used a pyrometer for logging so I don't have a clue :roll: . Any help would be great.

No patch currently available to do this. You could modify the WB patch to do this, and make a custom Tunerpro config file for it.

You'd also need a themocouple adapter/amplifier with a 0-5v output, or figure out a way to extract that from the Autometer setup.

Not a particularly straightforward thing to do. But it's possible.

As long as you get a 0-5v output from some kind of sensor or gauge, you could input it into the optional inputs (three available) for the autoprom. Then TunerPro RT would log them.

Hmm..... ok that makes me think that the better way to go is not the Autometer with a guage but a aircraft monitor style with a direct hook up for a digital output which I think is 0-5 volts.

Dig, I do like the look of the Autometer guage though. Could you give me a hand on the mod for the patch? I think I can do the Tuner Pro file (I think).

If you aren't using narrowband, hook up your egt to the narrowband input. Read the O2 voltage and convert it to temperature for a type K thermocouple. They both are 0 - 1 volt.

OK, I'll bite. Can I get one with green L.E.D. instead red, how does it hook up and what will it cost me to get hooked up :lol: ?

Question though, how's it read 1,600 with a XXX.X (three. point) readout? Does it drop the point reading when it goes over 999?

I see the GP but I have a K type thermo couple already. What is the cost fit the meter only and is there a "green" L.E.D. version? The red just will not fly in my interior.
