"ring" = toothed ring. It'll likely be cheaper to water-jet it vs. lathe/mill.
The sensors will likely be the same ones discussed earlier in the thread. Cost and availability will determine the actual sensor, but there are a lot of reluctive magnetic sensors out there.
Another challenge will be to get connectors that the connectors that normally plug into the dissy will plug into, such that there isn't any wire-cutting involved. First things first, though.
besides machining the ring, we would need to have the notches machined out as well? what kind of sensor would be needed? OEM?
