Is your compressor kicking it on the lower speeds?
The trucks not back together yet, but I'll see hopefully in a couple hours. The directions say to test it first with the key in run position. The fans should only come on when you turn the A/C on, but mine come on when I switch to "HI" no matter what position it's on.
I have a similar setup but I don't have a switch like that. Where did you buy the controller?
My controller is the same brand, but different model. It works great, except my taurus fan draws so much amps at startup it drops the voltage to under 12. Still trying to figure out of the wires need to be larger, etc.
I got it at the local parts store. They stock the probe kind and actual sending unit kind, which is what I got.
here is the setup i am building for my TYPHOON. I have a home made relay system i designed. But this is my last post on this site. Someone did a good job of insulting me . A controller is not needed. I never use them they are a rip off. I use a two fan setup for safety if one goes south. And once again a simple diode is the answer to your issue and SHIT CAN THAT CONTROLLER. And design your own that actually works. They SUCK. Build you own system it is a piece of cake. Note radiator fin controllers are JUNK. They work like Garbage. Show me a car manufacturer that uses them. Get rid of it pronto and do your self a favor.
Tom, being that you're newer here you have to realize something. A lot of people that come on here and start throwing information around have no idea what they're talking about. That being said there are members who get overly irritated with "noobs" and don't necessarily give them a chance to show they know what they're talking about. I've read your posts and it appears you do know your way around and have good information, so you need to ride the waves for a bit. :tup:
I would recommend trying to be a little less forceful with the information (ie the alternator and brake threads) if you have valuable information through it out there and let people decide whether they want to listen or not. I for one appreciate the info that some members go to the trouble to get, but that doesn't mean I follow every single persons advice.
All I'm saying is don't jump ship just yet, give it some time and take things with a grain of salt. There are certain people who definitely come across as couple assholes, but then you meet them in real life and you just see that's how they come across and not who they really are. :2cents:
Even rereading your post here it's filled with negativity. No sweat off my back I'm sure your a great guy.
They wiring setup was inexpensive, $35, and does a great job I think I might just have it wired incorrectly, that's all I'm getting at.
