engine detailing?

ok sorry i hope this is the right place to post this but im looking to clean up under the hood... i dont like how its all combobulated and what not.. is there a site i can get parts to make it look lets say "coooler" under the hoood? i like to drive my syclone around but i dont like popping the hood lol.. should i just take some brake parts cleaner and clean the usual stuff? sorry if this is in the wrong area, and thanks for help if u provide any


and also im not to much mechanically incline.. this was my older brothers syclone and he passed away 2 years ago so i am getting it in tip top shape.. just need to figure out the clickin noise when i try to start it and cleaing up under the hoood.. thanks again

I wouldn't recommend brake cleaner:

I like using Foamy Engine Brite (a Gunk product I think). It goes on as a foam and cuts the grease and grime away nicely then I put the hose on it with a fine stream of water. I would not hit the distributor directly with water or cover that when you do it.
