Hitting Cecil County tonight to see if I can break a 15.0

I think the Code59 is pretty clsoe and safe with virtually no KR

Hopefully we dont break anything.

Any suggestions on getting a good time?

Any guesses as to 1/8th, MPH, 1/4, MPH?

I dont want to boost launch the crap out of it! The trans is still factory untouched and I would like to keep it that way for a while til I can gather some cash.

I do still have a boost leak that appears to be somewhere in the throttle body (I can feel the air rushing out when doing a leak test somewhere near the IAC on the back side). I have replaced the IAC and same thing. It still holds 18 psi or so pretty good though.

Big, heavy wheels and a soft launch = slow times. You have the equipment to run low 12s, maybe high 11s on a good day. With a good tune and a good launch, it should do that, provided that it isn't horribly heavy.

Everybody's gaga over the vette rims, but I have yet to see anybody go faster with them on.

I say we ban him for a week from even looking at the board for not updating us promptly after his return from the track.

I was at Cecil yesterday for a short time. It was hot and ugly out there and overall not a good day to race. My wife happened to get your first run on camera (if yours is green with gray wheels). I was going to stop and chat with you but you looked busy with something around your steering column. Here's the vid, I know it's not great but she's just learning the camera....

60' was 1.84
then it was all down hill.

That was me! Green and Grey. Wish you would have tracked me down. I had an issue happen on the way to the track where it was running very rich. Using Code 59, I have had this in the past and fixed it by reseating the carrier and pulling the PCM B doing a reset. Unfortunately, the ignition key got stuck in the ON position and I couldnt turn the truck off. I ended up playing with it for a while but ended up pulling the fuse on the pcm to kill it for a while. I then left soon afterward and was very disappointed. I have been tuning for weeks now with the code59 and was getting some good numbers out of it on the street. On that run, my A/F went low 10's off the line and I felt it bog down the whole run. It felt terrible compared to how it was running. On the way home, just cruising, it was running 10-11 A/F just cruising where I should have been 14.7 to maybe 14.0 without going into boost. Now my issue is how to fix the key and get the ignition repaired. The key release mechanism seems to be broken and very loose inside a lot of play. I have done some searching of the key cyl problem but I think it is the release and not the key itself causing my problem. Going to pull the steering wheel this weekend hopefully.

Funny, my Impala ran a best of 13.4 @ 104 with a 2.2 60'.

I did pull a 1.84 60' with the truck but then it felt like it dove over. I think it's definitely got low 12's in it or high 11's the way it was feeling but I need to get the Ostrich Code59 thing resolved and first my key issue.

If anyone local has experience, I could use some assistance if you are bored!

I will be back as soon as I get it goin.

it shouldn't suddenly run rich all of a sudden.

how much gas did you have in the tank?

I always like to do DataMaster Quarter Mile Calculator testing at home before I waste my time, fuel, and money going to the track. That way I know ahead of time what my chances of setting new Personal Bests is going to be. If you use it properly it will never steer you wrong, accurate to within 1-2 tenths and 1-2 MPH. Obviously the weather conditions can/will change from your home to the track.

3/4 tank

yes, I have it staying in open loop not closed with the code59. I think it is a hardware problem. I have had this before and dropped the computer out, reseated everything and it was ok for a while. of course it had to act up on the way to the track and I probably shouldnt have run it with that problem but whats done is done. hopefully I will have some time this weekend to figure out the key lock mech problem and go from there.

Any updates on if it's running better?
