you could use the same idea to check functionality of the relay, and speeds, by the output voltages (or lack thereof) on the purple wire

Get a small battery and test leads with alligator clips and apply direct power to the blower motor to see if it spins / comes on. If it does then you ruled that out!

not always true, motor could still be bad and come on. other s-series trucks ive had burned up the whole fan switch, melted all the plastics inside the truck. Bad motor may still turn, may not even make noise, could still be bad. only my 2 cents.

Finally.., an issue I can contribute to. The same thing hapenned to my Syclone. The A/C's blower only worked on high and it annoyed the hell out of me. So, I changed the resistor (pictured in post # 2 above) -nothing. Went ahead and changed the blower motor -nothing. Did other things -nothing.

It was the A/C's blower's cut off relay (pictured on post #9 above) GM part number 14036273 (AC Delco number 15-8189). Hope this helps.

Mine was a corroded connector contact. Cleaned it off and blower ran fine on all speeds :lol:

I too had and still have only high and low. The dealer changed the motor and relay worked for a day. Then they cleaned the contacts on the back of the heater controller. I think I will have to try the item mentioned above in post 24.

It was the relay...
9$ at advanced auto.
Works great! Now I have AC!

All of a sudden my heater is not blowing hi on hi really at all and then seems to cut out.. Could this be the same issue or a short?? Need help

no hi could be motor or relay. possibly switch inside.

Open up the hood, Look towards the blower motor cover. You will see a relay on the front, and wires on teh side going to the coil. Went to Adnavced auto picked up both new for about $9, replaced, and no problems since!

Anyone got a P/N for the resistor? I'm tired of only high and low.
