Just got my issue in the mail. WOW. Nice cover, nice coverage, and they have a picture of my Sy in it from the shoot last year. That was a pleasant surprise.

I checked Fred Meyer today, and they still had the December issue on the shelf.

Read my father-in-law's last night. Great write up  And Rick Mears signed the glove box!! I'm still trying to find a family tie to him.

I'm not sure if it was just the magazine I was looking at, but on the cover, does it look like there is a touched up scratch on the front bumper on the drivers side? I didn't see it in any other pictures, but it doesn't look like a printing error. Killer truck non-the-less :D

Jeff -

Thanks for the great article. You did a hell of a job documenting one of the most rare and elite of the Syclones. Your patience and research definately shows that you took the time to get to know what we are all about.

Thanks for letting me help you out and get the stuff you needed for your publication!

Just got mine today... came from the guy who did my bodywork of all places... "I didn't know that was such a rare truck" :rotf: ... anyway, I have it scanned into my computer... want to circulate but I'm keeping the original fresh

Re: Marlboro Feature, Hemmings Muscle Machines - UPDATE!

Some info I got from Jeff...

He said the more copies that sell and if there is a big response (writing to the editor about how much the article kicked ass is a good way to boost the hype) there is more of a chance of future articles on sytys in the mag.

So if you have a sec, write the guys at Hemmings!

I have it scanned but the files are pretty big... I can look into posting them but my hosting won't hold the dpi needed to read it :(

I got it, the only problem with the issue is with some of the other articles. The Baldwin Motion article was cut off (which I really wanted to read), The Chevy Boys Corvette article was the same way.

Re: Marlboro Feature, Hemmings Muscle Machines - UPDATE!

the only reason they did an article on the marlboro is because it was red not black :rotf:

some of you guys that have been around awhile might get that joke...

"syclones don't get into car magazines cause they're black... and black just doesn't shoot well" :rotf: ...err whatever BS that guy said from truckin err whoever.

buy as many of this issues as you can... so that way in ten years you can sell them for 50 bucks on ebay, like those old issues of car and driver with the sy/ferrari on the cover.

I wish i bought that truckin mag when steve gavic's ty was in it... the spread was pretty good. but i remember there not being that many color pics.

one question i have though... did they take the sy to the track? where did they get those ET's from? or were the marlboros slower cause of the tonneau cover and the roll down back window???
