Sounds like fun. I'll try to make it, but I don't think my sy will be running. I would like to check out some other sy/tys. Look for me in a GN or Supra. I think the 20th is the weekend of the gratiot cruise (east siders)? Would be a good place to go after the meet.

If anyone would rather see this meet happen somewhere along Gratiot, if theres a good location, let me know.

I didn't know about the cruise, that might be more fun than just meeting at a park.

Ok, heres a map of the park.

I'll be driving out there this weekend to look for a good place to have the meet.

Hopefully they will have the BBQ's there to use.

If you aren't making the nats this year, and live within a few hours... it'll be well worth the trip.

Just a rough estimate so far, but I counted 11 typhoons, 7 syclones, and 3 or 4 GN's!!

Thats just for the ones I have on the list that said they could attend. And we also haven't sent out the email to other locals that don't frequent this board.

So if your thinking of making the trip, DO IT... this is going to be a huge meet.

Here is a list of who I have down for attending:
Jim
Shawn
Tim
Wade
Merk
Bill
Dynaglide
Ty2122
Pete
Mike C.
Ken D.
Ken G.
Renthorin
Chad
RJ
Twins
Buickturbo
Eric
Alex
Mai ty
Mike B.
Nick S.
Evan

People that should come, but haven't committed yet. :D

Keith
George
Jesse
John G.
Clint
Ineedasy
sy1177
Corbin
Vadersy
Barry

You guys need to come, we need more syclones! If all you guys come up, that would bring the count to something like 13 typhoons and 12 syclones... not to mention all those that will come that aren't on the board.....

So please mark this day down on your calenders, and bring your digital cameras. 8)

Island lake is gonna cost $90 to reserve the picnic area.

They have 5 out of the 7 areas available at this time.

I would like to have this meet, but I don't want to go to the trouble unless I know we are going to have a good turnout for sure.

Looking for feedback...... do we want this to happen?

Should a free area be looked into as opposed to this?

Hey, I am willing to donate $5-$10, if everyone chips in that is goin, it will be nothing to resevre an area.... how does parking look? We gonna have enough room? I definately would like to have this meet.

I've only spoke to them over the phone, but from the sounds of it we'll have plenty of room.

The covered picnic area is room for about 100 people, and room for another 100 around that area.

I'll be heading out there Sunday. I'll take some pics, and see what the size of the lots look like. I'm sure the lots will be plenty big enough for all that want to attend.

If 7 or 8 people paypal'd me $10, then I could just go ahead and reserve it before they all get taken. The one area I wanted is already taken, but theres 5 more to choose from, so I'll look it over. If I hadn't spent over 18k on sy/ty in the last month , I might have been able to just pay for it myself. :-?

I can't paypal (I can never get it to work) you but pm your address and I'll mail you $10.00.

I'm in for sure. I may get another Turbo Buick guy to go, and I'll try to bring my GN too.

Ok, reservations have been made. Park opens at 8:00am, and we are welcome to show up anytime after 8:00am. I'll be there by 10am or so.

Park entrance.........

Here is a "sketch" on the park map I made to get to our picnic area, which is called "Bluebird"

Exit #151 off of I-96, which is Kensington Road. Head south on Kensington Rd. past the first intersection of Kensington Rd & Grand River. About 1/4 of a mile south of that intersection is the entrance to Island Lake Recreational area on your left. Drive up to the booth, and its $6 for the day. Then just keep going straight, it'll be on the left..... 2nd picnic shelter from the end is ours.

If anyone has any questions, I can be reached at 734-837-5301.

My Uncle saw a former co-worker at a car show.
He has a Syclone and wanted to know if he could come to out meet.
I told him we would love to see his truck.
Here's the response I received from him.
I own Syclone Serial #8 with 33,000 original miles and I have not had it out in 2 years.

Your event might be the excuse to get me moving!!

Is the 20th on Father's day??? If so, I won't be able to join you.

I was looking at the calender today thinking I have a week to get the TY waxed, and holly $hit that's Fathers Day  .

It sucks but I'm out to. I'm not the best son but I can't give him "sorry Dad I had to go to a SYTY get together" line. Add my fiance's Dad in and I'd be a real piece of crap.

Hopefully next time, maybe I'll make the trip down for the Dream Cruise and hook up with some of you guys then.

Wrong answer.......

Pack the Dads up and drag them to the meet.

I may still cruise down without Twins. I know a few of you guys.
