Official Nats Memories Thread

Re: Official Nats Memories Thread

  • Mark repeatedly saying to me "you are definitely not what I expected"

We have been telling you that for years.

  • Jeff Scott vs. Tom Joy in the Outlaw Finals.... that was a great race guys

If you think you had fun watching that run you should have been driving it. Tom was running .5 seconds slower all day so I just knew I had him. Going into the run he told me he was going to tree me. He got lucky and ran a .02 to my .1x. I was 60fting better than he was so I was able to gain a .1 or so there and thought I have him by .4 seconds I will catch up. 1/2 track comes and he is slightly pulling away from me. End of the track comes and he is 1car in front or so, neck and neck all the way.

I was pissed thinking WTF went wrong with my truck. Get my ticket and see I ran my best time of the weekend. Tom just did also dropping .7 seconds off and gaining 7mph just because he left his air cleaner off. SANDBAGGER.

So whoever called over intercom and made him rush and left it off cost me a race. But it is all good, Tom is a great guy and we are ready to battle once again at the next nats for sure. Maybe by then Renz can find a wrench or two. BTW those missing bolts Renz are in the rear ashtrays.

  • Me putting Mandi in choke hold after she attempted to give me a weggie, thankfully I realized it was Mandi before I threw her to the ground :D

I got spilled drink on me over that one, arm was sticky the rest of the night and stinky.

seeing a huge number of trucks that were so clean.

the most shocking thing of all...

Jimmy was well behaved!

I said I'd be nice,so I was.I did not get in my zone. I had like 3-4 beers all weekend.

No crazy antics,or anything. Just walked aboot drinking a coke.

Still had fun though.

I'll be normal next time.

yup one bed in our room 4 grown men. Thats it you know how us hill billy foke do it.

Note to self when jeremy offers you a ride on the autocross course go for the first lap not the second one becasue he grows bigger balls on each lap first were nornal and the second were the size of jplamer 's. When you feel a truck sliding left to the wall(think he has been there before crash test dummy) with the wheels at full lock to the right and the throttle is floored is not a good feeling.
I was fun tho. i would do it again in a Heart beat.

Also Scott Kilpatrick won the go cart race. he just kept appearing in certain places it was just odd kinda like jeff at the shindig. he started first and then Jeremy couldnt drive and kept spinning out and was trying to block he serveal time but karma is a bitch when adam slamed him on at about 35 mph.

I will think of more later i posted some in another tread and will find them.

Couldnt have asked for a better time except for my pos truck wouldnt act right. I think it was trying to act like harmon's (just messing with ya buddy).

Re: Official Nats Memories Thread

Finally found time to sit in front of the computer for more than a few minutes.

Being my first Nats as staff, and as a dad, I don't have many memories. Spent a lot of time watching Terrick and doing what I could to help with the event. Didn't even get to set up my "vendor" table and sell posters really. Of course, if I'd know how to use my new camera, I could have saved some time taking pictures

Putting faces to names was a big one for me.

Nice to finally meet the regular chatters in person.

Adam, Ian, Harmons, MrKing & Fam, Dave, Scott, Jeff, Holli, etc. (I'm sure I'm missing names.)

Seeing all of the trucks at the Vette Museum was cool. We'll see how well my "panorama" turns out later this week.

There may or may not be more. It's time for bed for me. The weekend finally caught up with me. :)

All I know is that I punched it and it felt great up until I heard a bit clunk and let off.... looked back in the rearview and saw my wash bucket just sliding down the road. Pulled off to the side as Ian and Smoosh jumped out and recovered the goods.

Not the first time thats happened....

Re: Official Nats Memories Thread

My nats highlights are meeting up with Justin nallj in Illinois and getting a call a few mins later about rust chunks hitting his truck.

We left a little later and rolled into the vette museum after most everyone was there (what a sight),and after adam passed an old lady in the merge lane at what looked like 100 plus. And me not keeping up since I thought the tire on my roof was going to fly into the guy behind me.

Once in the Vette museum the trucks inside were cool and Dave's truck in there was kinda special imo. But the best part of the day was him acting as our personal tour guide in the museum. He did not care about hoping barriers to check something or feeling around for correct part numbers on the mufflers:rotf: He defiantly knew his stuff and seeing him excited about cars like the falconer made it way more fun.

Saturday at the track was a good time, beating on rusty (not passing tech) and so on. And yes as some of you heard right it was the t-case chain slipping. lol but the Powder puff race was hilarious. Kristina knew what she was doing in a good truck, Vanessa was taught how to launch just mins before in a crappy truck that ran the best of 15.5 by me. Now all she wants to do it get out to the track and race something.

But the best part was staying up late talking to larry brown( NOJIMMY) or donna (big mikes wife), or hanging out with paul (skwayb) at the mammoth caves. The people really do make it what it is and the trucks just add to the fun. Oh an Morgan is such a dick in person too:p

Will be back for sure when ever where ever it is held, we threw 2700 miles on rusty in a weekend it will go anywhere and so will we.
