Re: ProtoTy Project

Look for the right place, if Im lucky enough i can find them in a local "pick a part" for a mear $125. But I'd have to go by there every week to watch for them to come in. Thay get gone quick!!

S10 warehouse on ebay has them for $450 est. depending on milage

Re: ProtoTy Project

Not sure if they love or lothe me.

This isnt my first car on stands in my yard. Fieros, Monte SS, Camaros, Trans Ams, and some other random other crap.

This round the truck was only out for 2 days then back in the garage, 2 days because I had to work in the middle of the instalation

Re: ProtoTy Project

Wow! Looks like you could use a lift! I couldn't imagine having to do that without one!!

OOOOH trust me I'd love to have one. I have access to a couple but I seem to have it under control with my 1985 3ton floor jack (that leaks down) and my Harbor Freight cherry picker.

I have taken the engine/trans in/out of a Fiero 7 times in 2 cars in the last 2 years. Those come out the bottem. A lift would have been the ticket for that, but the cherry picker and the trunk latch worked nicely :D

I enjoy it and the neighbors just laugh. There is a sheriffs deputy down the road from me that usually has about 4-5 cars broke down in his yard, I try to keep it to one so the neighbors can stay mad at him insted :D

Re: ProtoTy Project

Well I just wanted to show you guys why I have decided to retire TY 0994. I only took 4 pics but this gives you guys an idea of how bad the truck is. These problem areas and the fact that it has a salvage title is what pushed me to this build. (I'm still currently driving this death trap)

Re: ProtoTy Project

My body mount cups looked like that too on one of my Jimmys. I changed them, made up a small piece of floor with some plate steel, and all is good now....mind you my frame wasnt cracked!!

Re: ProtoTy Project

I'm sure that you weren't working with a salvaged truck either

Re: ProtoTy Project

Due to the condition of the current Typhoon I feel that it is more important to get the drive train into the ProtoTy before getting the rest of the truck finished. Hopefully I can get it done before Typhoon causes any damage to the drive train. So its time to push forward the engine area and prep for the engine.

added a little color 5111 linen white

It's just Duplicolor that we sell at Advance Auto. This stuff lays down really nice, just have to wait for it to dry then clear it.
