Rebuild question

I have a 93 TY that isn't in that great of shape, The cladding is gone and there are some major rust holes in the body and it has a reconstructed title.

Now for the questions
should I spend the money and repair what I have?
Should I just rebody it to save some money?
Should I swap the drive train into another truck? ie Ex Cab or 95 4x4 Blazer/Jimmy Chassis.

I just looking for an idea of what to do with this!

The truck would be a labor of love and maybe worth it if you plan on keeping it. Do you know why it has a reconstructed title ?

So, does it look like that's the original body, or did they body-swap?

If it is an original Garnet, it's rare. It'd be worth your while, long term.

have no idea really, I cant find any welds anywhere even the cladding locations. I could do a body swap and go back garnett. or repair this body. I'm kinda torn on what would be a better repair.

Can you find where it was repair from before? It would better to repair this one because of the vin tag and the rare color :tup:.

Thanks Dave. That's exactly what I've been looking for, my truck had the RPO label removed along with the doorjamb sticker for whatever reason.

All the RPO's that were on the glovebox sticker will be on the printout. Including the color. The date of production (GM, not PAS) will also be on it, along with a lot of other tid-bits. I'm thinking this is a body swap with the VIN being attached to the new body.

Problem is, old vehicles don't seem to stay in the DB too long. If it's there, great, but a lot of stuff gets dropped.

My Christmas list include the GMTAC DB.....

I tried have my Syclone VIN run by the GMC in late 2001 or early 2002. It had already been delete from the Database.

I know that lower IC is a hot mess but I just finished another project so my attention has been turned to the TY once again!!

iunteresting not positive but arent our vin rivets black? need to find the frame VIN, and the vin on the block,

RPO sticker.....no longer legable
door label.....no longer exists
frame maybe but lots of rubberized undercoating to dig through (if anyone has a pic of its location that would save me a ton of diging)
engine maybe

that will be my challenge on Monday

But I beleave that what I have is a re-body. What makes me think that is, if I'm not mistaken, in 93 the rear seats came with 3 point seatbelts and I've had the interior out and there are no mounts for the retractor and the upper shoulder belt mount. whatever they used was off a blue truck because the rear belts and the rear window trim is blue (sprayed grey)

Did you run a carfax on it ? (I think that is what it is called) Some of the guys will do it for you if you ask.
