I thought about the idea a couple years back. If you do the cladding too, I think it would look horrible. I'd either follow a half inch above the cladding line the whole way, or follow above only the flats and let the primary colored arches run right over the "wood".
The problem is you need a good upper stopping point. The extremely gay and ugly upper indented body line will kill the cleanliness no matter what you do. If you go above it, the line will stick out like a sore thumb, but if you stop at it, it will look retarded as it won't be proportionately close enough to the top. If it were to be done, I think deleting the upper body line would be about the only way to make it look right.
Marbelizing paint to look like wood isn't hard to do. Put it on some chrome 5 spoke 18" wheels and paint the lettering white. Oh, and on anything besides a black truck is going to look repulsive. You might be able to get away with red, but the reds that came on Ty's were too pale and bland to pull it off, IMO. Maybe get a cowl hood and do the wood theme on the side flats of the cowl as well.
Obviously, I think it'd be fricking awesome if it was done right.
