Upgraded radiator

Ok, so i did some searching. I did not find an easy solution. For very built syty's or v8 swaps, aka people near 1k hp wise, what radiator are you running.

I have coolers for my transmission, and oil, so i don't need that stuffed in mine. I really want a radiator only, all aluminum, decent size(not 4 core monster) that is orderable through summit or ebay, ect. Please help!

Re: Upgraded radiator

I'm in the market for a factory replacement. My stock Ty needs a new rad. Thought I would post in here and maybe get the answer. Sorry, not trying to hi-jack your thread.

Re: Upgraded radiator

Dont know how you want it to mount but this 3 core is absolutely awesome and it was totally custom built to my specs by Superior Radiator in KY. It is designed for v8 S-series and fits perefectly inside the core support. The best part is it only cost $315 shipped.

I used a 3" core griffin on both my sy and Ty. 31"x16" if I remember correctly from summit. Something like $180 maybe.

My understanding is the stock one is good and an OEM replacement is better than most "upgraded" units for stockish trucks:hijack:

Re: Upgraded radiator

You could purchase my griffin in the FS section, it's ready to bolt in.

Re: Upgraded radiator

Bought a e-gay Champion unit for a Vette. it has more shit in it than i wanted ie: trans cooler and a low coolant sensor but i have worked with less. Same size as our stockers but full 2" cores and no plastic. rated at 750 hp, but with e-85 i hope it will do more than that.

That looks like a nice setup, but that's about $350 more than what it would take to buy the items separately. The radiator (not with the coolers, which is what he needs) is $180, the fans are $100 (if that, you can find good deals on them), and the aluminum welded to the body is a couple bucks at most.

I know you paid a lot for it from a vendor, but it's a lot of markup for a few welded tabs. The AN fittings might add another $100 into the mix, but still......that's a LOT to spend on that radiator setup

I just don't see where there is $1200 in that original setup.:dunno:

If you want to come over and see mine installed on the truck, you're welcome to. Mine is recessed, but it can still give you an idea of how it fits and the size when installed. It's in a brand new core support, and has ramchargers fans on them.
