What you think my Ty will run

Last year I ran 12.94 @ 103mph with the stock turbo, JSM DP, alky at 20psi. I was spinning on the Launch and got a 1.79 60' launching at 3psi.



This season, I have a PTE-63mm, PTE-39mm WG, RPM DP and Alky at 20psi. I have the Timing around 20-22*. The truck pulls way better than last year, just not sure on how much of a difference. I will be going to the Track in a couple weeks and hoping for a very low 12. Looking to hear your opinion on what you think it will run with a decent Launch.

BTW, I'm on the Stock converter and can build 5psi without pushing through the LS1 F+R brakes.

12.30s you should be able to hold around 10psi with those brakes maybe check the rear adjustment my c5s with stock rear drums can hold 20psi before creap

If you had traction problems last year; you have traction problems his year. Your Ty definately has the potential to run low 12's. I will guess 12.40 first time out.

I meant I can build 5psi, I'm sure I can build more just I don't wana cook the stock tranny. 5psi should be good enough for a decent time, till I get my built trans/stall.

This guy ran 12.376 @108 with a PTE44, Ultimate T2-22, Stock Converter at 22psi. I have more Timing than that and 2psi less boost but a PTE63. I guess I'll just have to find out.

do you have a TC lockup override switch? If so when do you lock it up?

My guess would be 12.0-12.2. I'm running a T-63 in my Ty but I have a built motor and trans and have been 11.6 with it.

Be careful with the lock up switch at your power level. Could be to much for the stock conv if you have the potential for low 12s. My stock transmission let go at 11.70 while locking the conv. Conv came apart trashing trans. It does though help out alot locking the conv. You might want to invest in a 3 disc conv such as a vigilante or similar. My 3 disc vigl is locked evrytime I STAGE!!! Transmission is going to be a weak point pretty quick that combo. When I upgraded my turbo I decided to use a built trans rather than trashing a perfectly working stocker.

I just picked up a spare Sy trans from Steve SEL777. I will be rebuilding it in September in my Auto Trans class at school with all HD Parts. A new thread will be made soon for a Link of the best parts to get.

I assume that you are aware that a Sy trans won't bolt up to a Ty transfercase?

You need to swap the Sy 27 spline shaft to a Ty 32 spline.

But you probably knew that,thought I'd throw it out there just in case.

Let me tell you man,I was standing next to a guy in '00 with 100k in a Sy.He was shooting for a 8 second run.It was 105 degrees outside.

The truck took off and he said "There it is!!!!"

It went 9.005

Then he sold it.
