Re: What you think my Ty will run
Last year with the Stock Turbo I was running 20psi with about 18* Timing. This year with the PTE63 I'm running 20psi with 22* Timing with around High 10's Mid 11's AFRs.
I'm running the same tires but with Front end limiters. I'm not guna have problems with traction. I'm going to be launching at 5psi and have barely a chirp from the front tires.
Hmm, The reason I ask is that I currenlty have a stock truck minus the basic mods for fuel, code 59 and all plus alky and exhaust. I have a chip at 26deg advanced @ 18 psi boost with zero KR, AFR's are 11.3 with pure alky. Curious what I"m gonna run. I hope I can do as well as your stock truck did, 12.9 would make me happy! 12.0-12.2 even better
I would think you could get a little more timing out of the new turbo and alky. What mix are you running for your alky? 50/50 or pure alky? I tuned two chips, one for a 50/50 alky/winshild washer mix and a 100% pure alky mix. Try finding a base bin, and then start with the boost @ 14psi. Increase timing till she knocks, then back off some and add some more boost. That's what I did. I went from 16psi at 17 deg with a 50/50 alky/windshild washer mix up to a max of 21.5 total timing @ 17psi. Then I went up to 18 psi @ almost 26deg advanced timing with 100% alky. Took a long arse time, but I got there! I know the limit for a stock turbo is around 20 psi. Seems the more boost = less timing I can throw at it. I figure 18 psi I can get a bit cooler temps and more timnig vs more boost and a little less timing?
I would love to see you in the 11's!!!
