Youre right...you really have no good reason. It was a blast and you missed out.
Have you ever been to Bowling Green or even to Kentucky? It's a nice college town where they happen to build Vettes and have a drag strip. It isnt "backwoods" at all. No toothless rednecks to be seen. Well, maybe Jimmy Mann but he was with us.:lol:

Ya know, I didn't delve into the depths of the backwoods, but the traditional Kentucky stereotypes seemed awfully baseless. What I saw, looked like people with a fair amount of cash. Same with TN. I've never seen a larger concentration of BMWs and Mercedes anywhere.
Also, most were better than average looking. Except for the Shoney's patrons.
Much cool stuff in the area. We will be back for non-syty reasons.
The temperature and humidity was bad... I remember equally bad temps at KC, though.

Effin HOT n' sticky! At least that's what I remember while passing through KY about 8 years ago. Not the place for me during summer in a truck w/no AC. Now had I known about toothless, redneck college girls, I might have stayed longer.
I probably would've enjoyed the track and code59 sessions most...

Not going because it was in KY is no excuse if your reason is you don't like the state. It's not like we were out sight seeing. Gotta figure the NCM is a nice place in a decent area. The hotel is a national chain and they are all generally nice and clean. We owned the hotel and by the number of people that posted that they were attending (and the fact that it was posted that some people had to go next door) that should have been obvious. Can always find a decent place to eat in a large town such as BG. Guess I am saying that I would disagree that not going because you don't like KY is an excuse. You would have been in "SYTYville" for the weekend. Guess you can say that for just about any SYTY Nats gathering. With that many people attending, you could be so wrapped up in SYTY stuff that you won't care what state you are in.
