here i go! i got a 92 Ty. last year before i parked for the winter the idle was surging. it was going from 900-500rpm, then sometimes it would stall. so for the spring i changed plugs, wires, cap,rotor an map. still the same. no light is on an i went over all the vac line an all looked good. as soon as i start getting into the gas it runs great. any info would help!!! thanks.

P.S. it has the problem in gear an in park.

what gauges have you got? check your fp, maybe your diapragm is old on the FPR, your fuel pump is on the way out?

have you got a scan tool - Datamaster?

What are your IAC counts like? maybe a throttle body leak - common on these if the throttle blades are worn or your IAC is damaged, maybe it needs resetting.

i do have fuel gauge. it always bin about 38psi. is that ok? i could bump it up?. put a high flow fuel pump in two years ago.

i can get a scan tool, what should my IAC count be? an ill spray the trottle body gasket an see if she revs up any. thanks

i just had a bad idel prob i fixed... i changed the fuel press. reg. and the o2 sensor.. rand some seafoam thru the vac lines.. went for a ride on the highway and never surged since

so i started workin on Ty. fuel press is good. vac lines are good. i ajusted the TPS it was out a little. still didnt help!!!! didnt get a new IAC yet, but i was checkin the EGR an it seemed like if i opened the EGR with my fingers that it idle better not great but better. but the EGR is good cause it does move in an out an hold vac... so what is goin on?????!!!!!! any ideas?!

If the EGR valve is stuck open even partially you will get a poor idle or no idle (stall) condition.

Clean the IAC! I had poor idle on my TPI car. I cleaned the IAC and made it better. Ended up having problems a few months later and replaced it. No problems since.

i got a new AIC today. i dont have a scan tool but i think that i read on here before that you can an should check to make sure the new AIC is adjusted rite. it was something about jumpin out two pins..... does that sound rite?? anybody have any info on this?

Ok. still no good!! new IAC, EGR, EGR controler,new map, checked all vac lines new fuel filter an all new tune up parts. and still the same shitty idle!! any ideas?????
