Re: Leather seats in syclone

Can anyone tell me which leather seats are somewhat of a direct and/or easy bolt in? In my Impala SS the Bonneville seats bolt right in with little modifications...I would like to put nicer leathers in my 92 Typhoon.

Thanks,

Jason

don't like the leather ty seats?

If you really want leather and still want it sporty go with c5 seats. I think jimmy or someone was able to get them to fit well.

I put leather seats from a 94 bravada along w the leather door pieces. The color is dark grey and matches the rest of the interior as if it came out of the factory that way

Corbeau Forza microfiber seats

Those are comfortable as hell and only weight 22lbs.

'04 Vette seats that I got from Ken.

Re: Leather seats in syclone

I've been wanting to do a set of leathers in my Sy as well. I work for a company that is a Katzkin dealer, so I thought I could get a pair of cheap Blazer buckets and have Katzkin skins put on them.

Wrong.

They don't have the pattern for older S10 seats and they said they'd need at least an order of 100 to bother getting a pattern made.

So then I thought of getting a set of newer S10 seats that they do have the pattern for. The seats can be found pretty cheap, anyone know if they can be put on our seat rails?

no the newer ones will not work, why don't you have an upholstery shop do them? i had my blazer seats recovered in a very nice cloth, fronts, back, door panels, rear side plastics and custom rear speaker covers for under 1k and they look original besides the material change.

if i could get the guy to do it, (he doesn't like to work much, he does awesome work but seems to take forever to get around to doing anything) i'm sure they would look authentic.

i personally don't like leather or i would have had it done myself but if someone were interested i could ask?

A word of advice, if you live in an area where it gets cold, or even plan on taking the truck somewhere where it gets cold, having heating elements installed may be a good idea. Cold leather seats in the Ty make the first few miles till the heat kicks in all the worse.

Re: Leather seats in syclone

I am currently having a set of all leather OEM seats made as well as the door panels with leather and red pipping. My cost is $700.00 for eveything plus twenty for the Syclone stitching. I will send pictures as soon as they come back. They are being done locally and if anyone wants a set please let me know and I will attempt to work a deal.

Thanks All!

Did you get this finish ? Do you have any pictures ?

Re: Leather seats in syclone

has anyone thought of GTO seats? The are very ,very comfy. If it wasnt blasphemy id say srt8 seats but.........:squint:

or the G8 seats?

Actually I don't think anyone would consider SRT8 seats blasphemy; I think 1madgumby has RX-8 seats in his teal.

There's always leather Blazer fat mans.

If you could, It would be helpful. I was looking into this, but the shop said that there is not enough detail shown in the picture that I show them from post #8 and 29.

Not a problem at all. I think I may have a few more, I will look for them this weekend. I am still organizing my hard drive. I have my own SyTy photo/document archive......;)

Re: Leather seats in syclone

to bad we can't get those seats via group buy!

I'm sure a upholstery shop could works something out if enough people were on board. Tom Argue might not make them again but there are plenty of others out there that are talented and looking for business. All it takes is someone with the right amount of motivation to get things started.

Re: Leather seats in syclone

One thing that still lingers in the back of my mind is how comfortable and functional the seats were in my SHO. Power adjust, lumbar, and power bolsters. Anythings possible, so they'd get my vote.

SHO seats were pretty nice. I was starting to track a set down for my SVT before I sold it.
