Did you have boots on them? Anything other than heat shields? This makes me want to stay away from MSD. I don't know what to think. I get alot of heat in the engine bay, because I have headers and bigger turbo.
Couple questions...
If I pulled the sparkplug boot from the wire (on the Taylor's), is it pretty easy to reconnect it? Is a special tool required if so? I was pretty pissed when I did it so I just left the garage for a break and jumped on SyTy.net.
If I need new wires for a stock application... here is my understanding as to the ratings based on input in this post:
Ohm Resistance:
1. Granatelli
2. MSD
3. Taylor
4. Stock
Moroso Ultra 40s - unknown at this time
Heat Resitance:
1. Moroso Ultra 40s
2. Taylor
3. MSD
4. Stock
Granatelli - unknown at this time
Visual Appeal:
1. MSD
2 Taylor
3. Stock
4. Granatelli :barf:

I just checked two wires out of a brand new set of Taylors.
Plug wire for Cylinder #1 = 36" long - tested at 982 ohms (divide that by 3 and you get 327 ohms per foot)
Plug wire for Ignition Coil = 12" long - tested at 329 ohms
That's about what you'd expect out of a $39 set of wires.
I just checked a set of 8mm, lifetime warranty, stock wires as well.........2327 ohms per foot.
Im already working with Hood on some taylor wires. Did you get the boot covers? THe ones that prevent them from getting burnt from the heat (Exhaust)?

Great read.
Hit JR Granatelli up on linkedin. I'm sure he's well educated on ohm's law.
Their maf's are junk, programmers are made by SCT or Diablo so I can say with about 100% accuracy you are buying someone else wires with their name on it.
I have about 6,000 miles on a built truck with MSD wires with 0 issues. I like making them myself since when you buy them they never seem to fit right, you always have one on the short side and one on the long side.
