which TC???

I need a new TC...i have a nearly stock engine and will also bye a new Turbo maybe a TD06 20G...

So what a TC would be nice?a 2400Stall TC?

It it has a 14 CM, I would say minimum 2600, otherwise 2800 is the max & I would not go any higher than that, your mileage will drop. If that is any concern.

I always try to get as tight as possible on the stall, get the best possible mileage, but I am on the conservative side, not so much for all out racing for my Sy.

I run a stock 2100 stall TC w/a TD06H20G turbo w/a 12 CM housing I bought from dgoodhue
& a 60-1 wheel http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=53545

It just needs,, I would say 2400- 2600 stall to spool up really fast, it has a slight lag to it as it is right now, but it really streetable & not bad @ all or really any reason to complain.
Best so far I ran 12.0 on a 100% stock longblock.

Hi folks,

Is TCS the name brand?

I run a 20G w/ a 10 cm/2 housing. Spooling is a little slower than I would like, but would prefer something around 2500 r.p.m. I don't think I need as much as 2800 r.p.m.

So, what are my options? Jerk? TCS? Coan? There is at least one other name that I cannot recall right now.

Tci Breakaway w/ lock up will give you about 2600 stall.In one of my earlier builds I had the same turbo and tc,it worked rather well.

Yank. Just as a note I d get like a $300 one until ur over 450 ft lbs. Unless your trying to protect some investment in a tranny.

Most stock trucks produce close to that #. If he's running a 20g, he's over 450 tq.

Don't go cheap on a stall. It will be the first thing to break, but when it goes, it will make sure it's not the only thing thats broke....:tup:

Hi folks,

I read on another thread that the 91-92 Corvette converter will give us about 150 r.p.m. more stall. The same thread said that we could get about 300 r.p.m. more by using the converter that came in the L35 Blazers but it didn't specify which year Blazers.

As I am running a 20G cm 10 housing I would like the extra 300 r.p.m.

Any ideas on the year for the Blazers?

I ran a 20G w/a 10CM housing for a while & it spooled almost as fast as a stock turbo.

You need to have a great flowing exhaust & intake system to have the turbo spool up quick.
What exhaust set-up & intake set-up are you using?

Thanks; I will contact Rusty but was looking for a lower cost alternative than the pricey converters. A rebuilt converter for a 91-92 Corvette or, better, the L35 Blazers, should go for about $150.00.

I run a gutted cat with a Borla muffler w/ stock-looking dual tailpipes. Only intake mod is a K&N filter stuck on the end of the stock intake tube, so flow should be "pretty good."

You don't want a 91/92 corvette converter, it's about 250 rpm tighter. I would leave the stock converter in for your mods, swapping TC is a lot of work for little gain if any.

Thanks for your input. No, I need a trans overhaul anyway. Prolly have Waller do it.

I read on another thread that the Corvette was 150 rpm looser; guy on here said he swapped them and even confirmed the difference.

But I am really interested in the L35 Blazer converter that, according to the same thread, is about 300 rpm looser than our stock one.

Any/all info is welcome!
